Dear Ark-La-Tex Members:

I am really excited to be the 2008 President of ALTTPA.  We have made many changes this year and look forward to making ALTTPA the place to have lots of fun and win some money.  The following is a list of changes that the board and I have made to make ALTTPA an organization that all team-penning enthusiasts would want to be a part of:

1.  Open Sorting Friday evening
2.  Prizes awarded at final show
3.  Must make 4 of 5 shows to be eligible for finals
4.  $500 added in #7 every show guaranteed
5.  Champion buckles and top five in #9, #7, #5 and Youth
6.  No added fees, payouts based on percentages
7.  Day saddles awarded for high point Open, Am, Novice and Youth at finals
8.  Changing from neck tags to back numbers
9.  Only 6 shows (one per month)

We have changed the ratings from a scale of 1 to 4 to a scale of 1 to 5.  All ratings have stayed the same, except for those who fell in the Open category (4-5).

ALTTPA has also affiliated with NRS so all shows with the exception of the final show will be sanctioned.  This will give our penners an opportunity to compete at the NRS National Finals being held at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center this December.

All rule changes and ratings will be posted on the website soon.  Additional information will be available at the first show.
